Carrrots! Carrots! Carrots! A staple in decor for Easter and spring! This is a kit from my shop. You can purchase here…http://www.turquoise-valentine.myshopify.com
Here I will show you the steps to complete this cute carrot kit.

First, you need to paint your wood beads. I usually put them on bamboo skewers and paint a couple of coats. The picture shows the order of the size in which to put them in to form the carrots.

Here are the colors I chose to use. I wanted 2 different shades of orange to create a small contrast. You can paint yours whatever colors you desire.

Now that you have your beads painted, lets get to building carrots! Your kit comes with jute string. You need to measure out about 16 or so inches of it double it over as shown in the picture.

Next, you will need to tie a knot in the doubled over end of the just as shown.

Then thread all the beads in order as shown here.

Now that you have all the beads on, its time to use the raffia that came in your kit. You will need to cut 3 pieces off that are approximately 4-5 inches long. You should have enough raffia for this size for all 5 carrots.

Now lay the three pieces of raffia in between the two pieces of jute right on top of the first bead. See picture to help. Then tie a knot or 2 to secure the raffia. Be sure and center the raffia.

It should look something like this.

Now fold up the raffia on both sides to form the greenery part of the carrot. The raffia is paper raffia so it should be easy to crease it and make it stay. You could embellish here with a cute ribbon or just leave it as it is.

Do this to the rest of the beads to make all 5 of your carrots.
Lay these in your dough bowl, tiered tray or anywhere you need a little pop of spring! Enjoy creating! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at theturquoisevalentine@gmail.com
